Public First is expanding
Public First has made four new hires to help us meet continued client demand and generate further growth. Tom Banks joins the Communications Team from West Ham United, where he led on the communications and stakeholder engagement for the club’s outreach and community work via their official charity – driving engagement and positive coverage of the club’s CSR commitments. Prior to working in football, Tom spent four years working on some of the biggest election campaigns the country has seen for a generation. He will help clients with coalition-building and grassroots and grasstops campaigns – techniques that are vital in changing the way politicians think about complex public policy issues.
Fred de Fossard joins as a Policy Analyst and will work in our Policy Team, helping clients understand the changing public policy landscape and helping them create detailed policy proposals. Fred was recently a parliamentary researcher for MPs, specialising in health and social care policy. He worked closely with Ministers and Special Advisers to produce briefings and research for MPs on all manner of subjects within health and social care. Before working in Parliament, Fred worked as a communications executive in the agriculture and fresh produce industries. Fred holds a BA in History from Magdalen College, Oxford.
Hannah Marshall joins our Policy Team as an Account Executive. Hannah joins Public First having previously interned at the Welsh Assembly, working with Leanne Wood MP on issues such as Plaid Cymru’s opposition to the renewal of Trident, part of the UK’s nuclear weapons programme. Hannah holds a BSc Econ in Politics and Economics and a Master’s in International Relations from Cardiff University.
Cecilia Sandell joins as Operations Manager. Cecilia previously worked for an international non-governmental organisation managing their office in the UK. Cecilia also recently finished her undergraduate studies with a First-Class Honours Degree in History, Politics and Economics at University College London (UCL). Cecilia has policy research experience from a number of non-governmental organisations and think tanks, including the human rights organisation René Cassin.
