Eddie Gillow

Eddie Gillow joined Public First as a Policy Analyst in September 2020, after completing a BA in Geography at the University of Oxford. Before Public First, Eddie interned and worked for various financial organisations, including private equity firm The Carlyle Group, the pan-European stock exchange Euronext and a boutique investment bank called Baylor Klein. During his undergraduate Eddie conducted various research projects, including his dissertation which looked at the audience reception of Marvel’s Black Panther and whether it was thought to challenge dominant geopolitical imaginations of the African continent. Some of his other projects looked at public perception of the sustainability of bike sharing schemes in Oxford, how the oppression of Uighurs has (until recently) been largely forgotten by dominant media, and a deep dive into the techno music sub-culture of Berlin. Other academic areas of focus for Eddie revolved around climate change policy and sustainability, geopolitics and diplomacy, and the geographies of finance.
