About Public First 

Public First is a specialist consultancy, helping charities, philanthropists, public sector bodies, global brands and start-ups improve public policy. Based in London, we have worked in more than thirty international markets. 

We are part think tank, part strategic consultancy, part polling company, and part communications agency. In other words, we bring together the different disciplines that make policy happen and work. 

Our recent projects have included: 

  • Helping Google quantify their economic and social impact in over 20 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America. 
  • Examining  the future of British media and entertainment with Sky. 
  • Running the Hybrid Work Commission on the economic and policy impact of the shift towards more flexible working
  • Measuring the economic impact of Uber in over 15 countries, including in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. 
  • Exploring public attitudes to AI in the UK and US

The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and organised Project Manager to support some of our multi-market research projects. 

This position will be critical to building a fast-growing research team, and ensuring we work effectively with some of the world’s biggest businesses. 

In the role, you will support projects exploring public attitudes and policy options for some of the biggest issues of our time, including AI, climate change, and political polarisation. 

Core responsibilities:

  • Leading on project management and account management for domestic and international clients, often managing 6+ figure budgets.
  • Supervising  timelines, client engagement, and deliverables across our portfolio of research projects.
  • Communicating clearly with cross-functional teams within Public First. 

The right candidate will have:

  • 2+ years experience with project management.
  • Exceedingly high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in liaising with clients or high-value stakeholders in a professional manner.

We work in a mix of in the office and at home, with our main office based in Westminster. Many of us, including the founders, have young children and we work hard to be family friendly.   International travel and work would be possible for future projects.

Project Manager starting salaries will typically start from £38,000-£50,000, with flexibility depending on previous experience and skill. Note that we expect to appoint at the lower end of this band.
