As part of our monthly omnibus, Public First asked respondents a series of questions about their views towards the economy, and the performance of the government in managing the economy. In our research, we found that a majority of respondents think the government is harming the economy, and respondents are almost twice as likely to say they are less financially comfortable a year ago than they are today.

We surveyed 2,012 adults from across the UK from 17th May to 22nd May 2024. All results are weighted using Iterative Proportional Fitting, or ‘Raking’. The results are weighted by interlocking age & gender, region and social grade to Nationally Representative Proportions.
