Polling on US Tariffs

Public First polling of 2,000 American voters looks at public attitudes to the use of tariffs as an economic policy tool. The poll reveals that, while more Americans support than oppose their use in principle, significantly more Americans oppose than support their use on either Canada or Great Britain. More Americans support than oppose their use on China.

Elsewhere, the poll looks at attitudes towards American allies. Canada and Great Britain are the countries Americans name as the closest allies to the US.

The results are featured in Politico.
