Uber UK Impact Report

Our report for Uber in the UK found that it didn't just provide jobs to tens of thousands of people, but it provided work in a way that drivers actually wanted. Our polling and focus groups revealed that many Uber drivers valued the flexibility the role offered. 89% of drivers said that flexibility was the most important reason they choose to drive using
the Uber app. A majority of drivers surveyed would rather retain the right to set their own hours, even if the alternative was 20% higher pay. For wider society, it filled gaps which traditional forms of transport could not, making it safer and easier for vulnerable people to leave their homes or stay out later. Meanwhile our economic analysis estimated that in 2019 Uber created £3.2 billion in economic value for the UK and every million trips in a city creates £12.5 million for the local economy.
