Public First conducted an online survey for the Standard Life Centre for the Future of Retirement.
The survey asked 3,030 people aged 60-69 a range of questions about retirement and the state pension age.
A particular group of interest are the ‘transition cohort’, those born between 6th April 1960 and 5th March 1961 inclusive whose state pension age falls between 66 and 67. To allow for more robust analysis this group was oversampled to ensure at least 500 participants, before being weighted down to the approx. 300 that this age group should constitute for any total-sample level analysis.
