Ben Murphy
<p>Ben Murphy is a Senior Research Manager at Public First. Ben has been part of the polling team since 2021, and has led on polling projects in over twenty countries, ranging from Brazil, the European Union, North America, and the Asia-Pacific. This has included leading on projects such as <a href="https://www.aboutamazon.eu/news/aws/digital-transformation-can-grow-eu-economy-by-2-8-trillion-euros">Amazon Web Services (AWS) </a>exploring the role that the company's cloud tools can play in supporting the Digital Decade agenda; for <a href="https://googleintheeu.publicfirst.co/">Google</a>, exploring the company's economic impact across the European Union; and for the <a href="https://www.bcg.com/united-kingdom/centre-for-growth/insights/state-of-uk-business-2023">Boston Consulting Group (BCG)</a>, looking at business views towards the future of the British economy.
This is alongside his work on a diverse range of topics, including energy and climate change, devolution and local government, and education policy. Recently, Ben has led on research for <a href="https://axiommaths.com/blog/maths-education-in-england-attainment-and-attitudes/">Axiom Maths</a>, exploring British attitudes towards Maths education; the <a href="https://www.edge.co.uk/documents/498/Advancing_British_Standards_Polling_-_Final_Report.pdf">Edge Foundation</a>, testing proposals for curriculum reform; <a href="https://www.ukonward.com/reports/power-to-the-people-how-to-unlock-energy-infrastructure-by-securing-community-support/">Onward</a>, looking at the role that community benefit programs can play in generating public support for renewable energy development; and <a href="https://www.publicfirst.co.uk/public-attitudes-to-tuition-fees.html">Progressive Britain</a>, exploring options for higher education funding reform.
Before joining Public First, Ben graduated from the University of Manchester, where he completed an MA in Politics.</p>
