The Startup Coalition commissioned Public First to explore public attitudes towards investing and personal finance in the UK. The research, based on a large-scale poll, examined how people save and invest, the barriers they face, and what could help build greater financial confidence and participation.

Polling Tables

Public First conducted an anonymous, online survey of 1,010 adults in the UK between the 18th – 20th June 2025, alongside a survey of 577 UK adults who invest between the 18th – 23rd June 2025.

The main survey results are weighted using iterative proportional fitting, or ‘raking’. Results are weighted by interlocking age and gender, region, and social grade to nationally representative proportions. The investor survey results are unweighted.
